Quarantine: Indoor Activities

Quarantine: Indoor Activities

Hello all! Welcome back! :)

There has been a lot of craziness going on in the world lately with this corona virus and what not. I wanted to talk about some of the productive things we can do while in this ‘quarantine’ phase.

  1. Read- Yes, you knew I’d say this. But reading is a great way to pass the time and to learn while you’re indoors! Reading also is a great way to engage your mind. It’s good for your brain, your vocabulary, and your inspiration. I love reading books on business, habits of successful people, inspiring books, etc., because I love reading books that teach me something that I’m interested in. Go what with what you like here. There are TONS of books to choose from.

  2. Working out indoors- I know this is easier said than done, but what better time to start a new workout routine than right now? Start a yoga practice or google some great work outs that you can find anywhere! Working out at home doesn’t have to be all that complicated, but it’s a great thing to do to keep your mind and body healthy during this time indoors.

  3. Work on your hobbies- Maybe your hobbies can lead to a great business idea, or a new invention! I don’t know, but you won’t know until you try! Maybe you’ve always wanted to be a painter, but never had the time to pick it up. Well, now’s the time!

  4. Watch documentaries- What a great way to pass the time: watching and learning at the same time! Documentaries are always my favorite because they keep your mind engaged while being visual, as well. There are so many different ones to watch, so keep your options open and get ready to be inspired!

  5. Catch up on e-mails- Yes, this may sound boring, but I’m the type of person that has thousands of e-mails that I pretty much leave until I delete all of them. Now is a great time to go through and unsubscribe to those e-mails that you don’t care to receive anymore! Clean up that inbox, and clean up your life.

  6. Listen to a new podcast- For those that know me, know that I am a BIG fan of podcasts. It’s an amazing way to feel connected to people who aren’t necessarily next to you, and SO many people have one! You can listen to so many and find one that suits you. I listen to a bunch of different ones because I like to keep it interesting. It’s almost like being on a fly on the wall if you know what I mean, lol. They’re really fun, especially while you’re cleaning your house! Give it a try.

  7. Write down your goals- It’s always a great time to get down to business even on our off days. Sitting down and writing out realistic goals are a great way to stay connected with yourself. I like to write out my goals like this- goals for the week, for the month, for the year, for the next 5 years, for the next 10 years, etc.; you get the point. I’m a visual learner, so I really enjoy writing things down so they stick.

  8. Practice a new morning routine- It’s not easy to stick a routine, so now that you have the time, figure out a routine that speaks to you and once things go back to normal, do your best to stick to it. I’ve realized I used to put SO much on a list for my morning routine, but I had to get real with myself that it’s not realistic to set aside 3 hours in the morning for a routine. If I have the time, great, but most days, I won’t get to all of those things. I’m looking at this time as a time to narrow down the necessities for me to start my day on a positive note. Even something as simple as just meditating right when I wake up is a great way to start the day.

  9. Practice journaling- Journaling is SUCH a wonderful tool that I used to take for granted. I notice that when I’m feeling anxious or uneasy, just simply sitting down and writing with an old school pen and paper can really put things into perspective. I don’t know what it is, but it’s like I’m able to ‘spill the beans’ and get to the root cause of whatever is on my mind at that time. Then, I can reflect and write motivating affirmations down to get my mind going in the right direction. It’s really very therapeutic.

  10. Get organized- This tip kind of goes with a previous one, but it’s always a good time to get sh*t done. I’m talking things that you’ve put off for months or weeks and thought “I’ll do it eventually”. Yeah, those things. I know for me it’s organizing my office space and keeping my home organized. I reorganized some kitchen cabinets and my fridge so far, as well. I mean, the sky is the limit. Organization is a great tool to tackle while we have time on our hands.

How are you spending your time indoors? Let me know in the comments!

Please, stay safe and healthy out there!

Love you guys,

Ash
