Tips on Execution
When it comes to business, it’s important to rationalize a strategic plan to achieve the goals that you are looking to attain, we know this. BUT, what happens is, sometimes, people take too much time thinking that they miss their chance to make moves.
This is something I’ve learned, even more so recently, that it’s actually more important to execute your ideas rather than think about them. Of course, I’m not saying that you shouldn’t take your time and really think through what type of business or idea that you have, BUT what I am saying is how it’s important to put those THOUGHTS into ACTIONS.
Here are some tips to get you started on your journey:
Write things down. I can’t even tell you how many notebooks I have. One is for journaling, one is for poems/ song, one is for my ‘plans’ for the future, you get the point. I think that writing things down is ESSENTIAL into getting anything done. Even in my notes app, I have SO many random things that I’ve written so that I don’t forget. It’s a habit that’s worth putting to the test because you’d be surprised what ideas you come up with and if you don’t write it down, that thought could pass right by!
Study, and study some more. Part of the execution process is having the knowledge to know WHAT you’re doing! How can you put something into action without researching how to get it done? There are so many things to learn and so many tools that we have access to at our finger tips. Even going on You Tube and learning from someone’s experience in any and all aspects of what you’re looking to improve on can help more than you think! I love to listen to podcasts in my car when I’m driving to auditions (I model and act so I go on auditions that are over an hour away a few times a week), when I’m in the gym, when I’m cleaning my house, I mean there’s a time to learn all the time. Why not be as productive as you can? I also have a TON of books that keep my mind fresh! Reading is so so important for so many reasons. Pick up a physical book and get to work. It’ll be worth it!
Take baby steps, but do SOMETHING. This one is challenging because this means that all that studying that you’ve done needs to be shown for something. Yes, it’s important to study all you want, but then there’s a time to put that studying to the test. Do something every single day that gets you farther along in your goal. Whether that’s to start a business, start a podcast/ blog/ YouTube, whatever it is, just take little steps every day that get you closer. Something that may seem so small today will make a big difference over time. Trust me on that. Without putting your ideas into action, all you have are ideas. Yes, ideas are great, but they’re even better when you DO something about them.
Stay open and humble. One thing that I think is the MOST important throughout this whole process is to remember that you are a human being doing the best you can. Honor yourself and your journey, but remember that everyone has their own journey. There’s no need to judge or criticize others because, honestly, it’s a complete waste of time. Do yourself a favor and save your time and energy. Put that energy into bettering yourself starting now. Be open for possibilities because you never know who you’ll meet and what doors could open up for you. Remember that you are not better than anyone else because we are all human beings. Being humble and staying open-minded is key, I’m telling you.
Network. Ok, so this one is something that I’ve started doing more of in the past few years, and it’s a real game changer. The truth is that networking is part of the gig! You need to network with people in order to learn and to grow. I’m an introvert, but I make myself come out of my shell when it’s necessary. I’ve learned SO much and I continue to learn because of the people I meet along my path! It’s crazy how things can connect and you don’t even realize HOW, but it does! I don’t believe in coincidences and I believe people cross your path for a reason. Introduce yourself and be good company because it WILL come full circle. You never know who you’ll meet, so by keeping a good attitude, you make a lasting impression, and people will remember because they always do.
Remember to NOT get overwhelmed by your ideas or by thinking about having to do this or that, and be happy that you have them! We are all so blessed to be on this planet and to be able to create WHATEVER we want. Life is precious so it’s about taking chances and stepping out of your comfort zone (you’ve heard me say this before), but it’s true!
I challenge you today to sit and think about what it is that you’re really looking to accomplish and get real with your vision. Do it because you’re worth it! This is your life, so make it a great one! Right? It’s about being productive and making progress as MUCH as possible.
Where do you see yourself in the next 5-10 years and how do you plan on getting there?
Let me know in the comments! I’d love to know your tips! :)
Much love,
