Take Time to Rest
Taking the time to rest your body is crucial in any fitness routine and for life in general. In order for your body to reach its maximum potential, rest is probably the most important part of this process.
When you let your body rest, you are allowing your muscles to grow and you're giving your body time to heal. I used to think that rest days weren't necessary and I would push my body to its max. When I did this, though, I wound up feeling very burnt out and my immunity system wouldn't function as well.
In order to avoid this "burn out" stage, take at least one day of rest per week. This is a great way to let your body know that balance is important and to reap the benefits of your workouts/ daily activities throughout the week.
When you allow your body to rest, you are also giving it a chance to relax, which is essential in our day to day lives. When we are constantly on go-mode, we are not allowing ourselves to settle in and be completely present. Rest helps us to take a pause and to slow things down a bit.
There is no need to rush. There is no need to hurry your way through life. We have the time we need and if we allow ourselves to live life one moment at a time, one breath at a time, then we are giving our bodies the ultimate nourishment it truly needs.
Resting is what creates peace for ourselves and with peace comes fresh energy. This fresh energy brings new ideas, new concepts, new goals, or maybe it just brings your body to a relaxed state so your body can heal. Whatever this energy brings for you, it is vital for our growth physically, mentally, spiritually, and emotionally.
One day this week, I invite you to take a rest day and let me know how it goes for you.
Choose to do whatever you please as long as you are completely relaxed and taking it easy on your bodies for that day whether it's getting a massage, some Netflix and chill, relaxing by the beach, doing some facial masks, taking a bath, etc.
How do you like to relax?
I like to relax by staying home and reading, watching TV, or laying in bed for most of the day. This allows my body to refuel itself so I can have more energy to do active things that I enjoy doing. It's important to create this kind of balance for ourselves and our lives so we can create space for reflection. If you feel tired day to day, you probably could use just a simple rest day.
Self care is the most important thing we can give ourselves, so why not start now?
Much love! :)

Ash
