Forget School, Get a Job

Today I am going to discuss a recent decision I made about whether or not I want to go back to school.

I graduated with my Bachelor's degree not too long ago and thought that I would IMMEDIATELY go back to earn my MBA. This has been a thought of mine for quite some time now. Receiving my Bachelor's has been a huge accomplishment to begin with, but I've always been the type of person who went for something all the way. I would end up getting my PhD, probably, but as of recently, I have decided that doing any more school is just not something I am interested in right now.

Why, do you ask? It's for the simple reason that in my field of work, it's just not that necessary.

I'm not saying "Don't go to school", because there are some careers that you absolutely NEED an education in: think of a doctor or a surgeon, anything in the medical field really. It's important to learn about the body and various topics to get into medical school.

My field of work isn't that, though. It's business oriented, steered more towards being an entrepreneur, and modeling/acting. Now, I can imagine you're sitting there thinking, but there are SO many things that you could learn more in school (maybe you're thinking this, or maybe you agree with me when I am simply suggesting that if your goal is to be a BOSS, then there really is no need to spend your money).

All I'm saying is, if you have it in you to get that Masters Degree or get that Ph.D., then BY ALL MEANS, GO FOR IT! PLEASE! BUT, if you're like me and you feel that you can learn everything you need by experience or research on your OWN, then maybe you should second guess your decision to further your education.

I find it WAY more valuable to get a job and get to WORK. Start from the bottom, do WHATEVER you need to gain as much EXPERIENCE to own your own business.

There are TONS of opportunities to grow with companies the sooner you start.

Stack your cash and get to work! I'm telling you.

THIS is what works for me, and I hope that my story provides some type of value to you. Maybe you're thinking about going back to school, or you're not sure what you want to do. Maybe you feel like a failure because you didn't graduate college or high school (I'm here to tell you that's NOT TRUE) . Maybe you think everything I'm saying isn't relevant to you and you believe school is everything.

I have been listening to a lot of podcasts recently by Gary Vaynerchuk, The Skinny Confidential, and others where they suggest to get to WORK if you want to succeed rather than spend money on student loans. What are you thoughts? Do you think school is necessary past a high school diploma/ Bachelor's degree? Do you think a Bachelor's degree is necessary at all with today's society and so much opportunity to learn at our finger tips ? I don't know about you, but I think that investing in books and reading up on people that have succeeded in the market you want to get into is WAY more valuable and could save you TONS of money.
